My BFF in the toughest fight of her life | Moorestown Family Photographer

My best friend from Boston University came down to visit over Labor Day Weekend. You wouldn’t know by looking at these pictures that there is anything wrong with her. And that is how she treats life and what she is going through. She was diagnosed with MDS (Myelodysplastic Syndrome). She has undergone chemo and a bone marrow transplant  a year ago August. She had to be separated from her family for over 100 days after the transplant. I can’t imaging being away from my children who are basically the same age as hers for that amount of time. Her body is free from the cancer which is great but it is not producing red blood cells and platelets. So she must go again for a 2nd transplant sometime next year. Her daughter has her Bat Mitzvah in November so the transplant will be planned after that if needed. We are all praying that her body starts producing these cells so she doesn’t need it.

She is working 3 days a week as a PT plus going to the doctors every week and sometimes needing a blood transfusion. I don’t know how she is doing it. If you talked with her for a few minutes you would never know anything is going on right now. She always wants to know what is going on with you and how she can help with anything. One thing I did as a result of this was to become a donor if needed in the Be the Match organization. They are always looking for people especially my age to help.

While she was here we updated her family photos. What a great looking family you guys are. We love you!
